Summary 0006559: Rapid ranged autofight causes movement towards monsters
Description Rapidly using autofight with a ranged weapon can cause you to move towards monsters instead of firing your weapon, even when you have unobstructed line of fire. It appears to only occur if done before the client has received the previous screen update (i.e. when lag is bad enough for the key to be pressed twice or more between redraws). Problem is, this makes no sense. Observed on both CAO and CSZO console.

As far as I know, this bug has been present since ranged autofight was introduced.

Forgot to mention, it does not appear to make you attack monsters in melee with your ranged weapon.

Update: it *does* make you attempt to attack monsters in melee with your ranged weapon. Of course, it will normally be stopped by a prompt.

Just pressed tab and it made me read a scroll of teleportation that was on 'l'. This is getting rather annoying.

My hunch was wrong. The problem also occurs in local games. I think it may have to do with pressing tab during an animation (such as the animation that every use of a launcher creates...)

I had similar problem with online games and spell macros (like zaf). Character would take a step and then a macro making menu would open, instead of casting.

This happened to me yesterday.. my spriggan was tabbing away with his sling and then he decides to step towards the ogre instead. OHKO

I am getting a similar bug where tabbing rapidly with a polearm against an enemy two spaces away resulted in opening a drop item menu.

It sounds, horrifyingly enough, as if lua calls to the autofight function may be executing while earlier calls are still running. Inserting sleep() calls into autofight would be a reasonable way to try to confirm that hypothesis.
