Summary 0000061: Patrolling uniques
Description I recently had four uniques on a level all clustered around the entrance to the ET. I had already chosen a god by that point, but if I hadn't, this would've posed a very interesting challenge. I'd like it if this happened by something other than random chance. In particular, I would like it if normally-OOD uniques could be generated as patrolling guards for branch entrances, Temple overflow altars, loot-heavy vaults, and so on. Given how important timely accessibility to these dungeon features can be (particularly, the order branches are completed in) this type of complication would enrich gameplay (as long as it didn't happen more than a handful of times per game).

I don't think OOD enemies guarding Lair would ever be fun, considering how important it is to the game. ET seems rather unfun, considering how early it is. And for the rest, you have to somehow guarantee that said enemies wouldn't just dissipate and blow everything up.

TGW: The "patrolling" flag restricts a monster's movements to a certain area. They don't wander, and will eventually return there once they become bored.

TGW: You can have a hydra or a death yak guarding the Lair. Having Psyche or something there doesn't seem nearly as bad as that.

TGW:

I think it would work well for ET because of the new ET overflow mechanic. As for Lair, it would probably still be fine as long as it's not something way OOD like Xtahua. After all, if the unique is patrolling it won't follow you down the stairs, so getting in is easy. You just won't be able to safely leave.

Branch entry vaults and overflow altar vaults can (and have been) made to the tune of the suggestion. No specific chance required.
