Summary 0005822: CTRL-f produces "Oh dear. There seems to be a bug..."
Description I had saved my game on Elf 4 about a week ago, and I haven't returned to it until tonight. Before leaving the level, I did a search for bolts. Before getting the search results, in the message pane I got this message, repeated about 10 times (probably not verbatim):

Oh dear. There seems to be a bug in the program.
You should leave the level and save as soon as possible.

It happened every time I pushed CTRL-f, even after moving up to Elf 3, where I saved and quit. But the search results seemed fine, even accurate.

The actual note is
"Oh dear. There appears to be a bug in the program.
I suggest you leave this level then save as soon as possible."

However, I just fired up the game and transferred my save to the latest trunk version...

"You are not playing in the latest version (f7678ec) available!

[T]ransfer your save to the latest version?
Transferring...: successful!

Starting Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup f7678ec...
<?V> This is Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup 0.11-a0-2533-gf7678ec"

...and I don't get that message anymore. Weird.

Looking at the saved message scrollback buffer, I can see that before, on Elf 4 it repeated the above 2-line error message 40x on CTRL-f before showing results. Then on Elf 3 it repeated it only 38x on CTRL-f before showing results. Now CTRL-f does nothing but show the results.

I fixed it a few days ago, but coding on the phone, I had no decent browser to mark the Mantis issue as fixed. Closing.
