|Summary||0005759: Are you sure you want to quit without saving?|
To a player unfamiliar new to roguelikes, it's not entirely clear that this means that you're essentially killing that character. For example, see this post:
Even to an experienced player, the message sounds weird - it's conflating two different meanings of "quit", namely, to "quit" a particular game of Crawl (i.e. what ctrl+q actually does) and to "quit" a program (what you do when you press S). I suggest it be rephrased to something along the lines of:
"Really quit, forfeiting your current character?"

|I'd go farther, and use something like "suicide the character".|
"Really commit suicide?"
And for added flavour, some character-appropriate messages if you say yes:
Living, not a Spriggan, Troll, Felid, or Octopode
"You begin chopping the <species> named <playername> into pieces."
"You finish chopping the <species> into pieces."
"You eviscerate yourself!"
"You run at top speed into the nearest wall, hit your head, and die."
"You discover a taste for seafood."
"You roll your head around a few times. It falls off!"
"You discover that your own flesh is quite tasty. Unfortunately, moderation is not your strong suit...
"You ruminate on the meaninglessness of your existence. As you do this, a mouse comes along and nibbles you to death."
