Thanks, they look great as usual. However, I wasn't expecting that for the glowing mold.
Mold is the green stuff that stays on the ground when you kill spores. So I was looking more for glowing variations of dc-misc/mold_small*.png

The pressure plate doesn't look like something that anyone could possibly step on.

The rest of the traps don't look like anything that anyone could step on, either. They're abstract representations.

Except that this one looks like something that would raise floor tiles and crush someone between them (is that blood?). Doesn't fit the slightest with a slab that triggers a basket of spiders or closes a nearby grate...

I think Denzi has mistaken pressure plate for a trash compactor kinda thingy

I am sorry.
I was not able to do English translation well.
Does a good picture exist?
Production of a tile becomes easy if there is a picture.

A pressure plate is disguised as part of the floor, and is about the size of a human foot.

A pressure plate is stepped on by a person.

The weight of the person causes the plate to sink a little bit, triggering an activity elsewhere.

It should look like a small square of the floor sunk downwards.

Why just a "human foot"? A plate that small would be something people are unlikely to step on. It can be any floor slab that is rigged to trigger something.

Usually they don't stand out in any way, but since we want to show _known_ ones, something like http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/423485-prince-of-persia-dos-screenshot-killed-by-a-guard.png [^] would be good.

And in no case this trap is supposed to directly do anything to the player, it triggers some other thing.

The tile was corrected. Is this tile OK?
@KiloByte :I have understood by your screen shot.
glowing mold cannot imagine a picture well ...

The mold should look like these, except glowing: https://crawl.develz.org/mantis/file_download.php?file_id=368&type=bug [^]

Pressure Plate looks good but could be made generic for all floor types?

@XuaXua: What do you mean? As pointed out somewhere above, it's an abstract representation of the tile. In reality, most of the traps wouldn't be visible at all, even if you do know about them.

What I meant was, yes it has a transparent background, which means it is intended to be placed over a floor tile of any floor. The plate itself is conceptually disguised, but the central part of the exposed pressure plate image is essentially a big grey rectangle.

Maybe it could be enhanced: the gray rectangle could be made somewhat transparent to reflect the nature of the floor beneath?

This is assuming pressure plates will be used on any floor type and not just a dungeon floor type, where a big gray rectangle would be fine.

The tile of glowing mold was corrected. Does this tile suit an image?

@XuaXua: It is the probably best problem-solving method that you yourself draw a tile.

XuaXua: The entire point of having a tile is so that the player can SEE it! Making it "blend in" makes it harder to see; I'll take clarity over flavour any day.

... All I was suggesting was maintain the rectangular border and add some transparency to the middle to allow it to blend a bit with the background as an artistic touch; but overall it is not as big a deal as the rest of you are making it and I am only posting to respond.

Denzi: I tried you new glowing mold tiles but it doesn't look good. Don't use red. I suggest you simply take the normal mold tiles (linked by minmay above), and just make them glow slightly.

I brightened the colors since red/green is a colorblind issue.

Thanks xuaxua, this is good enough to go in. There's still room for improvement if anyone wants to.

Was pressed for time; I did something different now with the originals and the four I made. My feelings won't get hurt if it doesn't work for you. :-)

For your consideration: Also revised Denzi's pressure trap image to use some transparency in the central portion to "disguise" it with any ground layer that will sit below it. Not sure if you crop the green out or whatever you guys do to process these. I think I could go even more transparent on the center, but I am not sure how to apply this.

XuaXua: I really like the 2nd version of your glowing mold, this is exactly what I was thinking. However, I'm not using your version of normal mold. The glowing mold stands out more with the original version.

If the version which XuaXua corrected is good, please use a pressure trap tile.

I do not understand what the graphics of a normal mold tile express.
be careful -- I do not expect that the contents of the mold tile are problems.
However, it is thought that your mold image differs from my mold image very much.
I may be unable to draw the glowing mold tile which you want.

@Denzi -
My mold tiles are from the images from minmay's comment above. They represent the green left behind when a mold spore explodes.

@galehar-
I wasn't trying to replace normal mold; I just did a yellow highlight around the original tiles you provided. All three submissions were candidates for glowing mold; none were intended to replace existing mold tiles.

minmay provided
mold2_1.png thru mold2_4.png
which I assume are the four existing green mold tiles used in-game.

"mold2_glow_#.png"
First attempt was enhancing the green glow only.

"mold2_sporz_#.png"
Second attempt was taking originals and adding a yellow highlight.

"mold2_sporz_glow_#.png"
Third attempt was taking the enhanced green glow version (my first attempt) and also adding the yellow highlight.

I am assuming normal mold stays unchanged and mold2_sporz_glow_#.png will be used for glowing mold, which is fine by me.

Found out how to test against the floor tiles and made a better version of the revision of the pressure plate.

Semi-transparency applied to show you guys what I was aiming towards with my description.

The glowing mold tiles are in, thanks!

@XuaXua: I did understand what you meant, I just think the tile is clearer to the player if it's not transparent. (That said, I did try both variants, but still prefer the original. Thanks for taking the trouble of modifying the tile.)
