Thanks for the patch, but.. this sounds more like a feature than a bug. You know that fish can be forced out of water by drying the water from around them, by blinking them with distortion (I think), and possibly other means?
I'm not sure what the old code was supposed to do, but trampling fish out of water sounds ok to me.

Aquatic creatures being pushed out of water seems weird, as nonaquatic creatures can't be pushed into drowning. You'd also expect the trampling monster to end up charging to its death if the victim is pushed out of deep water or lava. And this is approaching FR, but given the penalities, it's questionable that nonaquatic monsters can trample in shallow water at all. |

Those are instakills, which is a good balance reason to keep that from happening, even if they break expectations a bit. Good points anyhow, including if non-aquatic monsters should trample in water at all.
I assigned to doy, if he has time to take a look and decide.

I don't think it is a bug. As Eino says, balance is more important than symmetry: pushing landlubbers (like most players) into water is bad, so we don't. Pushing water creatures out of water is okay. |

Closing this duplicate. I don't think this needs fixing, except perhaps solely for krakens which are mentioned in the remaining duplicate. |
