Summary 0001928: Transparent doors
Description The game currently has many vaults with secret doors in transparent walls. Once these doors are found, they magically become opaque. This makes very little sense from a player's perspective. The obvious solution is to add transparent doors.

differentiating between door materials would also fix 0001923

Doors should be doors, with set properties. That way no one needs to question if jellies should be able to eat rock doors, or if you should be able to make elementals from them or dig through them yourself (or indeed, use passwall), and so on. Unknown hidden doors shouldn't inherit any of their wall properties past appearance, and using a wall-affecting spell on a hidden door should reveal it as a door. Transparent walls turning into solid doors is magic, whatever, though transparent doors would be fine in themselves, as long as they remain doors otherwise.

I think LRD currently breaking doors into rock fragments should actually be changed into door fragments or the like, as it raises some of the above issues - as things stand, the things aren't made of rock.

Yeah, I'm not talking about doors with different materials. I was thinking of a door that would still be "just a door," this one just happens to be transparent. After all, transparent walls are regular rock or stone walls that have been enchanted, rather than being glass or something.

Also, I think "splinters" or even just "fragments" would sound better than "door fragments."

I would be willing to create rock/metal/transparent door tiles if there is a desire to have them in the game. Let me know what you think devs.

Secret doors are on their way out, so FRs related to extending them are obsolete.
