Where do I find my rc file? I'm afraid I have only touched the files from simpler roguelikes.

And I really shouldn't unless everyone does since I downloaded the basic tiles build and didn't change it.

What exact version of Crawl did you download from the website? I can't reproduce this on either the Windows Tiles 0.23.0 or the Windows Tiles 0.23.1 zip download.

(Your rc file is the options file Crawl reads from. You can put a variety of other useful options in there which may improve your playing experience. See http://crawl.akrasiac.org/docs/options_guide.txt [^] for a full list. You can find it in your settings folder as a file called init.txt; judging by your response, you probably haven't got that in your init.txt.)

I have 23.1. And I can confirm no language=ru.

Thanks for the notes about the options.

Every shop was like this with that character until they died. I will start a new one later and update whether or not the new one has shops like that when they get there.

The random Cyrilic text is more than just items. New character is seeing it in a random goblin description. Which probably makes it more unreplicatable, so I will stop updating after this.

I think NormalPerson7 is asking because the items you mention as having cyrillic text are ones that happen to have a ru translation, whereas the others don't just because we mostly don't have full translation for everything (though I thought it should fall back on English in those cases). The same probably goes for the goblin case.

Do you have your system set to a locale that might lead to this? (Or more generally, what locale is your system set to?)

I'm in Chicago and this computer has never been out of the country, so it shouldn't be set to anything Russia.
