|Status||new||Product Branch||0.22 stable branch|
|Summary||0011767: Unable to cast poisonous vapours on self|
Currently players are given the "That would be overly suicidal." message whenever they attempt to cast PV on themselves, even if they have rPois.
To me it is clear that players should be able to cast PV on themselves when they do have rPois, but I think they should be able to do it even when they don't have rPois. There are oftentimes clouds much more dangerous than poison, e.g. petrification clouds, miasma clouds, where the player would rather be standing in a poisonous cloud than some other cloud.
Furthermore, the game does not prevent players from casting mephitic cloud or freezing cloud on themselves regardless of whether the player has appropriate resistance, so this behavior appears very inconsistent.

You simply can't cast PV on a tile that has another cloud. This makes your feature request pointless. (I think PV is already strong, without making it able to replace existing cloud.)
If you want a way of removing clouds try using fan of gales, or wand of flame in case of freezing clouds.
|I think he's referring to casting poisonous vapours on oneself before an enemy casts a cloud on you to prevent the cloud the enemy casts on you from affecting that tile.|
|Yes, basically what NP7 said. The game will not allow you to self-cast PV (That would be suicidal!) even if there are no clouds on your tile.|
