Water doesn't offer rSticky. Spending a turn in/over water will remove sticky flames, presumably because the character automatically dips underwater briefly. |

Looks like all commits involved in water providing protection against sticky flames are mine:
0.6.0-a0-1167-gd54d56f initial implementation
0.11-a0-2988-g3533502 controlled flight
0.11-a0-2989-gf958f30 monsters
So here's my logic: if you stand in waist-deep water and get splashed, you may dunk yourself to get it off. If you're flying above the water, you can do that as well. Intelligent monsters know that, dumb animals will thrash around if already in water but won't know water will help if they're flying above it.
Not sure if that's right: at least according to mumra's link, it wouldn't work with RL napalm. No idea if "a wizard did it" or mottled dragon breath follow the same rules. |
