0007200: Napalm affecting character in water
A character is standing in water, not under the effect of Fly. A mottled dragon breathes napalm on him, and he catches fire, despite being in water (which normally puts it out). This is in the current trunk for CAO console.

I saved and backed up, which you can find here: http://crawl.akrasiac.org/saves/blazinghand-crawl-git-5d73c5f294-130611-0140.tar.bz2 [^]

a screen capture of the situation is here: http://i.imgur.com/0haGfXs.png [^]

again, expected behavior is that standing in shallow water puts out napalm and prevents you from being renapalmed. The observed behavior is that you can be napalmed while standing in water.

Water doesn't offer rSticky. Spending a turn in/over water will remove sticky flames, presumably because the character automatically dips underwater briefly.

Also, one of the notable features of napalm IRL is its ability to float on water and be extremely difficult to put out by it: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110203232022AAgIV3H [^]

Looks like all commits involved in water providing protection against sticky flames are mine:
0.6.0-a0-1167-gd54d56f initial implementation
0.11-a0-2988-g3533502 controlled flight
0.11-a0-2989-gf958f30 monsters

So here's my logic: if you stand in waist-deep water and get splashed, you may dunk yourself to get it off. If you're flying above the water, you can do that as well. Intelligent monsters know that, dumb animals will thrash around if already in water but won't know water will help if they're flying above it.

Not sure if that's right: at least according to mumra's link, it wouldn't work with RL napalm. No idea if "a wizard did it" or mottled dragon breath follow the same rules.
