Summary: | 0011471: Molten Gargoyles untargetable by LRD | ||||
Description: |
Molten Gargoyles cannot be targeted by Lee's Rapid Deconstruction I do not know if this is actually a bug or not but I think it should be changed because it would be more intuitive and consistent with the other monsters of the gargoyle family. Although it is never, at least to my knowledge, explicitly stated that Molten Gargoyles are a valid targed for LRD, varoius related entries in both wiki and more importantly learndb at least imply that they should be. But it is often unlcear whether the term "gargoyles" is used to refer to all 3 types of gargyole or only the "base" gargoyle which is indeed susceptible to LRD. What I am trying to say is that the current situation is confusing and I assume that a new player running into a Molten Gargoyle would just be as surprised as I was when he or she found out that LRD wouldn't work on a Molten Gargoyle. "Flavour", for lack of a better word, somewhat matters in that regard as Lee's is described as (...) "Targets made from rock, stone, ice or bone will cause a small explosion." (...) and from the monster description we learn that Molten Gargoyles are made of "molten rock". But is molten rock (magma?) solid enough to qualify as "rock" or are they entirely liquid? By "in-game-science", Bolt of Magma is partially earth based and partially deals physical damage, again I'd assume that they would be targetable by LRD So the different approach would be to re-flavour Molten Gargoyle into a non-gargyole construct so it is not the one exception in the family. Or to adjust the description to be more clear about the subject. That was probably a lot more verbose than it needed to be. Sorry 'bout that. (Operating system used: Microsoft Windows 8.1) |
