Thanks kilobyte!

L-R: Quicksilver dragon, vault shouty guy (nothing wrong with the original tile, but I felt like it would be nice to display him brandishing his horn more), brighter fire drake with some color variation (it was invisible in Volcano and other places with red floors) sky beast that looks more like its description and has semi-transparency.

Below, blink frog of a slightly different color tone and three variations on Sigmund. He was pretty tiny before, and I feel he could fill the 32x32 space better.

Thoughts?

Blink frogs look weird to me having one half in outline and the other not. I would perhaps use some semi-transparency and in more areas. Could be interesting to have a few frames with different parts invisible so the effect is like they're phasing in and out.

Edit: Also I love the new sky beast.

I like ball-o'-fire Sigmund best. It's his spells that make him dangerous. (Ok, it's his depth that makes him dangerous.)

The one-half-in-outline, one-half-not thing is consistent for several blinking creatures in Crawl. It tends to look good against most floors, in my opinion.

I could see changing it, but if I were to do so, I'd probably do a load of things together to make a consistent visual cue for "tends to blink a lot" -- off the top of my head it would include crimson imps, insubstantial wisps, blink frogs, phase bats, Prince Ribbit, and Nessus.

It does seem established for only a small handful of monsters - I think it's mainly appropriate on monsters that blink _all the time_ like blink frogs. I've just always found it strange how one part is 100% transparency and one part is 0% transparency, and how the floor shows through completely. I just assumed the bipolar transparency dated back to 8-bit colour palettes / before alpha channels were in common usage ...

All of these are in except the quicksilver dragon. The existing one is... not good, but yours is a little flat and blue for a player-killing terror made of pure mercury. Just giving it a nice metallic sheen and clarifying where the wings are might be enough. The rest are great, though!

hmm, any advice on what I should do to the wings? I might not have anything for the next week or so, but I'll try to improve the body texture.

Well, the problem is that one wing is tucked almost completely out of sight behind him, so I guess I would just place them so they're both visible. They don't have to necessarily be traditional bat wings, either.

These all went in a while ago; thanks for uploading!
