I think you need to work the shading on the minotaur tile a bit more. The horn blends almost completely on the torso and makes it look a bit goofy. The loincloth could be more easily discernible from the torso as well.
Don't be afraid to use stronger colours. |

Thanks for your comments, I'll rework the tile so all the parts are a bit more discernible from one another and upload the edit. |

also, player minotaur (as well as mythological) have only bull head and everything else is human(e.g. Legs). Old tile also misleading but you can fix this :) |

Oh wow, yeah, I never even noticed that. Well, I'll get cracking on that. |

Hi lingerstink, do you have any updates? coolio is spot on about the shading on the minotaur, but otherwise the tile looks really great, I love the style. The second tile looks good to go for me - not sure what to use it for (I don't play the tiles version that much so nothing comes to mind immediately), but there'll be a spot I'm sure.

Thanks for assigning a note to this, I had completely forgotten about this.
Unfortunately shortly after I posted this and got some feedback on it my computer went absolutely kaputt, and in the process of getting a new one I had completely forgotten this existed.
Thankfully this update has reminded me of this, so once I have some free time I'll work on humanizing and improving the visibility of the minotaur and such. |

That one's a lot better and fixes a lot of the problems the earlier version had (cloven feet, colours blending into one another etc.)
However, I feel like there's room for some further improvement:
I suggest you work on the shading some more - this is tiny tiny pixel art so having high contrast between different layers of shading is a must.
I also suggest you change the colour of the loincloth to a colour that is distinct from the minotaur's skin and fur colours - you might also want to make the bracers that same colour. |

duly noted, and thanks for the input. I'm a little unsure what to go with as far as the loincloth/bracers color. I was thinking red, but in reality i'll probably just make a bunch of variations, so everyone can see what works best. |

Well, a good idea to try is to check a colourwheel and pick a contrasting colour.
In this case, something blue (since the fur is orange) might work the best.
EDIT: I made a quick tile-edit. Red actually worked a lot better than blue.

Added two more iterations of the minotaur. v2 includes shading improvements and the red cloth, while v3 includes further definition to shading and changes the red cloth to more resemble cloth than some weird blood-red chain thing. Sorry for uploading two in such a short time, but as soon as i uploaded the first I started nitpicking it.
I tried a variety of different colors for the cloth, but red did indeed work the best. it was fun trying all of them though, like restarting games in starcraft until you got the player color you liked. i wasn't the only one who did that, right? |

I quite like v3 myself, but I'm a rubbish art critic ;) |

Maybe not what you were going for, but I repurposed this into the tile for the new unique, Asterion! Thanks! |
