How is this confusing? One is a fairly well-known figure from mythology used as a unique, and the other is an abbreviation for a dungeon branch. I don't see how they'd ever be interchangeable. Now, if the new Forest branch were being called something like the Realm of Pan, I could see a problem, but here, I just don't see how there's any potential for confusion, even if someone isn't aware that Pan is a figure from Greek myth. |

FWIW, I don't really like Pan as a name for a unique either. That name is taken. The reasons for calling a unique satyr Pan are also very strong of course, which is why I haven't said anything so far. |

All of this is somewhat of a bikeshed nature -- I don't think there is actual danger in keeping the unique name. However, I also think that since the unique's name happens to coincide with a branch name, there is opportunity to exploit it. For example, Pan could (appropriately rarely) show up in Pan. |

Or how about giving him a vault with Pan portal that still appears in Forest? I guess that's more of a wiki discussion thing though. |

This point may or may not have merit, but this is certainly not how we want our bug reports to look like. Closed. |
