I think that's what he's talking about. And if so, there was a brief discussion of this in the Sourceforge tracker several months back (though I can't remember exactly when).

I was thinking of suggesting this myself for a while. I find it annoying sometimes when crawl quits out after I die, especially when i have several characters who all die on D:1 due to kobolds with runed darts of something powerful. A config file option for a "New game? Y/N" prompt after showing the highscores would be great.

DCSS 0.7 introduced the restart_after_game option, which does exactly this. (Though it only works when a game ends, not when saving, but - debugging aside - you are unlike to switch between games during the same gaming session.)
